“In terms of skills, Courtney has an extremely strong arm, she’s very athletic, and she has obviously watched a lot of baseball as a kid because she makes in-the-moment plays you can’t teach. As a batter, she hits for average and power, and she doesn’t get beat by pitching velocity even when it ramps into the mid 60s. On the bases she has very good speed and is an extremely aggressive baserunner. And she is an excellent bunter, which, for a batter who often rips the ball her first time or two up, creates bunt basehit opportunities, allows you to know you can secure a “sac bunt” without giving away the out, sets up squeeze play opportunities, and keeps the defense up, and she can pull-back-slap extremely well also. She is a very driven proud person who works hard on her own without needing a coach to push her. And she’s a nice kid who really respects the game.”
